Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LyfWis (“LyfWis”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal information in connection with our website at lyfwis.com (the “Site”). Our products, such as PostLayr, may be governed by their own separate policies.

1. Who we are

LyfWis is a product-focused software studio based in Delhi, India, serving clients worldwide. For any privacy question or request, you can reach us at support@lyfwis.com. We act as the data controller for personal information collected through the Site.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Newsletter sign-up: the email address you submit through our subscribe form.
• Contact / enquiry form: details you choose to send us, which may include your name, email address, and the contents of your message or project enquiry.

Information collected automatically

• Technical and log data: when you visit the Site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and the pages you view. This helps us keep the Site secure, fast, and reliable.
• Anti-abuse data: we use short-lived, IP-based rate limiting and hidden anti-spam fields to protect our forms from automated abuse. The full IP address used for rate limiting is held only briefly and is not written to our database.
• Truncated IP address: when you send an enquiry or subscribe, we store a shortened version of your IP address which means the final block is removed (for example 203.0.113.45 is stored as 203.0.113.0). This lets us spot repeated automated submissions from the same network without keeping an address that identifies you individually. We do not store full IP addresses against enquiries.
• Analytics: we measure how the Site is used so we can improve it. This is described in section 10.
• Country: when you send an enquiry we record the country your request came from, as reported by our hosting provider. We do not store a precise location.

3. How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiries and provide quotes or information you request.
• To send our newsletter, where you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
• To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Legal bases (EEA / UK visitors)

Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for example, for the newsletter); our legitimate interests (responding to enquiries, running and securing the Site, and preventing abuse); and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. When we share information

We share personal information only as needed to run the Site and our business:

• Service providers / processors: Cloudflare (hosting, storage, and security of the Site and our databases), and any email or infrastructure providers we use to operate LyfWis. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate terms.
• Company look-up: when an enquiry is sent from a business email address, we pass only the domain part of that address (for example “example.com” and never the full address, your name, or your message) to Clearbit, a company-information service operated by HubSpot, Inc. in the United States. This helps us recognise which organisation is contacting us. Addresses at personal mail providers such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, and Proton are excluded and are never sent.
• Analytics providers: Cloudflare, Inc. (cookieless website analytics) and, for visitors outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Clarity). See section 10.
• Legal and safety reasons: where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
• Business transfers: if LyfWis is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

6. International data transfers

LyfWis is based in India and uses providers (such as Cloudflare and, for some visitors, Microsoft) that operate globally, including in the United States. Your information may therefore be processed in countries other than your own, including India. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

7. How long we keep information

We keep enquiry and contact details for 24 months from the date you contact us, so that we can respond, honour any quote, and meet our business and legal obligations. After that they are deleted automatically by a scheduled job, this is enforced in software, not left to memory. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. IP addresses are shortened at the point of collection rather than stored in full, and the short-lived full IP used for rate limiting expires automatically. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.

8. How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted and access-controlled administration, parameterised database queries, and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at support@lyfwis.com. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us.

• EEA / UK: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
• India: you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including the right to access, correction, and erasure, and the right to grievance redressal; you may contact us first and, where applicable, the Data Protection Board of India.
• California: we do not sell personal information; you may request to know or delete your information as described above.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

The public Site does not use advertising cookies, and we do not use your data for advertising or sell it to anyone.

Strictly necessary

A secure session cookie is used by our own team to sign in to the private admin area. It is not set for ordinary visitors.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are read. It is cookieless, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track you across other websites. It runs for all visitors.

Microsoft Clarity

To understand where our pages confuse people, we use Microsoft Clarity. It records anonymised interaction data such as clicks, scrolling, and pointer movement, and can replay a session as a diagram of those interactions. Text is masked before it leaves your browser, so anything you type into a form is never sent to Microsoft. Clarity sets two cookies (_clck and _clsk) and processes data in the United States.

In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask first. Clarity is not loaded, and no cookie is set, unless you choose “That’s fine” on the banner shown on your first visit. Choosing “No thanks” means it never runs. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s own storage and not in a cookie, so nothing is stored on our side before you decide, and declining costs you no functionality. We ask again after twelve months, and not before. Declining is honoured everywhere, not only in the regions where we ask first.

We run no other analytics: no Google Analytics, and no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind. You can opt out anywhere by using a tracker-blocking extension, or by clearing site data for lyfwis.com.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, also processes standard request data (described in section 2) to keep the Site secure and available. That is server-side infrastructure logging, not a tracker in your browser.

11. Children

The Site is intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party links and products

The Site may link to third-party websites and to our own products (such as PostLayr) and social profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites; please review their policies separately.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
